Metro Cab Boston

Metro Cab of Boston is one of the Newer Boston Cab Radio Dispatch associations approved to operate in the city of Boston.

To the best of our knowledge this company was started in the late 20th century (around 1999) by a group of Eastern European Boston cab owners who decided to branch out on their own after the demise of Checker Cab Boston. Total membership in this company has repeatedly risen and fallen since I entered the Boston Cab business in 1999.

Who owns Metro Cab Boston?

At times Metro Cab seemed to be the association. They opened shortly after the demise of Checker Cab and grew by leaps and bounds immediately. The alleged owner a man known only to me as “Felix” would have benefits to joining Metro Cab such as Free light bulbs(any light bulb your car needed he just gave it to you free of charge), low radio dues, free paint jobs. Whatever he could think of to get people in the door.

How does Metro Cab Boston Dispatch?

Although the smug jerks over at the brown and white Boston Cab association like to brag they had “computerized dispatch a decade before anyone else” in reality what they had ,in my opinion, was some piece of shit analog based system that I think forced modem noises over their old 400mhgz radio channel. My humble opinion the honor of “first” should be given to Metro Cab Boston because they were the first to deploy electronic dispatch with Global positioning. I am told their system was manufactured by Digital Dispatch corporation and initially cost well over $200,000 for Metro Cab to deploy.

Metro Cab has along way to go to catch up with rivals like Top Cab Boston.
